After spending his early years in Cache Valley and serving a mission for the LDS church in South Korea, Tyler went on to grad school at the University of Minnesota where he earned his MBA and his MHA. Post grad school life presented him with time on the road as a consultant for IBM as he consulted for fortune 500 companies nationwide. Tyler later decided to move to Arizona to start his own financial services business providing financial planning, investment management, tax planning, and insurance for a nation-wide clientele of individuals and businesses. After 10 years in Arizona, Tyler knew he wanted to raise his family in Cache Valley and moved back to then become the CFO and Assistant Dean for Huntsman School of Business at USU.

Tyler met his wife during his time in Minnesota, and they now have four kids together. His leisure time is spent with his family and giving back to the community. He volunteered for nearly 20 years in the Boy Scouts of America and is now an active participant at Rotary.
